Her name refers to the lively waters between Vlieland and Terschelling. In stormy weather, the channel resembles foaming milk – Stortemelk in Dutch.
Today, the name stands for a vessel whose efficient rig and considered interior bring active sailing and comfortable time on board together.
1961Stortemelk is laid down as North Sea fishing vessel KF7.
1992Under the supervision of the strict Dutch shipping inspectorate, a beautiful, fast and safe sailing schooner is created. Extensive navigation and safety technology enable worldwide cruising certification.
1999Marly and Mike take over Stortemelk. Together, they develop her into a place of longing for sailing enthusiasts and their own way of life. Soon, the vessel and her owners gain a loyal following.
TodayThe professional charter operation and lovingly maintained vessel remain a successful model today. With full order books and many long-standing friends, Marly and Mike continue this story with great passion.
